After my crit session it was apparent to me that the whole project wasn't going the way I wanted it to. After speaking with Brian I clarified that the end artifact should be a level built in UDK dealing with colour and light. This realisation felt like a set back, but from the research that's been conducted already, this can be used to further my understanding in environment spaces. Further research must be done as some of the books have sent me off in a direction that isn't relevant.
The project will be focusing more on the navigation of an environment. This area has been explored in previous years so there is common ground that I can follow to help me with this process. Colour therefore will be the main subject and how this can help guide a player through an environment. Collin outlined some useful quantitative research methods to conduct experiments that could gather useful data such as participants. Also the eye-tracker has been suggested, although, in the past it has proven not to be too reliable, but it's another option none of the less.
